Twenty-plus years of days out of Marrakech
· 2 min read · Barbaro Tours of Morocco
What twenty-plus years of running days out of Marrakech adds up to: a fleet, two licences and one name on every reply.
Barbaro Tours of Morocco is a family company in Marrakech. Moulay Hafid Boumehdi owns it and runs it as CEO. The company on the paperwork is Barbaro Transport SARL. It holds the licences and it issues the invoices.
Moulay has run days out of Marrakech for twenty-plus years.
What the years built
A fleet of 22 vehicles in four classes: 17-seat minibus, 15-seat minibus, 7-seat vehicle and 4×4. No saloon cars. Drivers on the company payroll. Guides and desert crews of its own. Licences from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Transport, and full insurance. The fleet and licences page sets it out as a register.
Where the vehicles go
Day to day the fleet runs to the Palmeraie and the Agafay stone desert, Lalla Takerkoust, the Ourika valley, Imlil and the Ouzoud falls. Further out it goes west to Essaouira on the coast, and south over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Telouet, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, the Dades and the dunes at Merzouga.
Nine of the ten journeys booked on this site start in Casablanca, seven of them with a reception at the airport. Most run through Rabat, Meknes and Fez before they reach Marrakech. See the journeys.
The office
You will find the office at Building B, Office 15, Professional Complex, Section 2, Avenue Allal El Fassi, Marrakech 40000. Allal El Fassi runs north-east from Guéliz toward the Palmeraie, between the medina hotels and the activity sites the vehicles drive to each morning.
A name on every reply
Owner replies on Tripadvisor are signed Moulay Hafid Boumehdi, CEO, Barbaro Transport SARL, with his WhatsApp number underneath. The listing stands at 4.9 out of 5 from 152 reviews, checked on 25 Sep 2026. Read the reviews.
Moulay gives the reason in four words: reputation is the asset. So every trip shows its price and its cancellation terms before you pay, and runs in the company's own vehicles.
One company, several names
The company now sells its days under several names. Marrakech Excursion Shop sells the day trips, Agafay Visit the Agafay desert and Taxi Cab Morocco the transfers. Morocco Hot Air Balloons and Morocco Travel Advisors open later. This site carries the company's own name and books the ten multi-day journeys. How the Barbaro network fits explains the split, and the company page has the rest.
